BMA Takes on the Endometriosis Challenge

At BMA, we may have done something slightly radical… you are not going to want to miss this!

To mark Endometriosis Awareness Month this March, we hooked our CEO, Managing Director and several brave members of the team, from Auctions Operations Supervisor to Lotting, up to a TENS machine to simulate the pain associated with endometriosis. Then we asked them to carry on with everyday work tasks.

Simple, right?

As you’ll see in the video, what followed was a mix of determination, resilience and some very honest reactions.

Why We Did It
While there are plenty of laughs, the message behind the challenge is serious. Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women. It is a chronic and often debilitating condition that can cause severe, life-impacting pain. Despite this, it remains widely misunderstood and frequently minimised.

For many women, this level of discomfort is not a one-off challenge. It is something they manage while continuing to work, lead, parent and perform every single day.

This initiative was our way of:

  • Raising awareness
  • Encouraging conversation
  • Building empathy in the workplace
  • Supporting colleagues who may be navigating invisible health challenges

Leadership in Action
We are incredibly proud that colleagues across the business, including our CEO and Managing Director, were willing to step up and take part. Their involvement reinforces an important message. Creating understanding and inclusive workplaces starts at every level.

Every single “participant” gave it their all. Some more successfully than others. We will let you decide.
