Evesham, UK -This past weekend, Oliver Pearson, Sales & Marketing Director at BMA, successfully completed the Everest Rowing Challenge at GOAT Fitness in Evesham, alongside teammate Tim Birks.
The challenge required participants to row 8,848 metres - the equivalent height of Mount Everest, as part of a fundraising initiative in support of Manisha UK, a charity dedicated to improving access to education in Nepal. More than 40 competitors took part in the event.
Proceeds will fund the construction of a new dormitory at a remote supported school in Okhaldunga, Nepal, providing accommodation for 40 pupils. The facility will enable students to stay overnight, eliminating a daily journey of up to two hours each way to attend classes.
Oliver reflected on the achievement, stating: “The Everest Rowing Challenge was both physically demanding and rewarding. Knowing that our efforts will help provide young people in Nepal with greater access to education made the experience all the more worthwhile.”
The initiative has been praised by organisers as a testament to community spirit and determination.
