Things got seriously competitive at BMA HQ this week as the BMA Bake Off returned for 2026, bringing an impressive selection of homemade creations to the main kitchen.
From cakes and cookies to doughnuts, flapjacks and some very impressive savoury entries, the team pulled out all the stops in the hope of being crowned this year’s BMA Bake Off Champion.
And, of course, there was plenty of help from the rest of Team BMA when it came to making sure nothing went to waste!
With bragging rights and a £100 Amazon voucher up for grabs, the difficult task of choosing our winner fell to Mat Davies and Nick, who took their judging responsibilities extremely seriously. Each entry was judged blind, giving our bakers the chance to let their creations do the talking.
Among this year's line-up were pumpkin shaped cinnamon doughnuts, salted banoffee millionaire flapjacks, Biscoff blondies, Kinder cookies, profiteroles, caramelised onion and brie sausage rolls and plenty more.
After plenty of tasting, deliberating and, naturally, going back for seconds, a decision was finally made.
Congratulations to Lauren Gouldthorpe, our 2026 BMA Bake Off Champion! 👑
Lauren fought off some very strong competition to take home this year's prize, along with the all-important BMA Bake Off crown.
A huge thank you to everyone who baked and made this year's competition such a success, and to Mat and Nick for making the tough decisions.
The rest of us were more than happy to take responsibility for eating the evidence.
Another brilliant afternoon at BMA HQ and another reminder that a little friendly competition never hurts.
Until next year, Lauren... enjoy the crown! 👑
